About Ayurveda.
 Ayurveda has long been the main system of health care in Sri Lanka, although conventional (Western) medicine is becoming more widespread, two-thirds of rural population still uses Ayurveda and medicinal plants to meet their primary health care needs. "Ayurveda” is not only a form of medication – but it is and has been a total way of life, known to the generations of Sri Lanka for almost 3000 years. It is a very effectivea gentle method of treating the root causes of illness, both in mind and body.
Today, most of major cities in Sri Lanka have an Ayurvedic college and a hospital to keep the valuable practice flow, unhindered.
Nature’s way to good health, the efficacy of “Ayurveda” has been proved again and again by its record of successful caring and curing. Ever since its inception this very effective ancient healing practice has been steadily growing in popularity, even in the modern era. The popularity of its effectiveness, have been never so strongly felt. The thriving practice of it in the west and around the globe provides ample proof of its holistic reputation. Further, the continuous search of the health conscious today, for effective alternatives to the spiraling costs and side effects, that at times result from the use of modern medicine, provides more proof beyond doubt of its precious value.
