- The main cause of gastritis is from the presence of a bacterium called Helicobacter Pylori, which is the same bug that causes peptic ulcers.
- Another main cause for gastritis is irregular or excessive eating - as it is a very common habit of people that they do overeating, eating wrong food combinations or improperly cooked foods, eating lot of spicy food.
- Bacterial or viral infection (infection by a virus is contagious).
- Use of drugs such as Aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, cortisone.
- Worry, anxiety, grief, and prolonged tension.
- Excessive intake of alcohol may lead to gastritis.

Ayurvedic Treatment for Gastritis In case of gastritis, you may take the following treatments: - One or two TSP of Sukumara Ghrita may mix with a cup of milk.

- You may take TSPs of a vipathikar Churna with water at nigh daily.

Chamomile. English mallow. Ginger (Zingier officinale). Meadowsweet (leaves and flowers). Amla (Indian Gooseberry). Slippery Elm - Before meals, take up to 5 grams of powdered bark in capsules or mixed with water. Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra).
ULCERS
When continuously exposed to destructive action of acids, a raw spot develops, which is called ulcer. Ulcer usually occurs in the stomach or duodenum, since these are the areas most open to the direct action of acids and bile.
Symptoms of Stomach Ulcer 1. Localized, burning or gnawing pain in the abdomen or chest.
2. The pain is present before as well as after a meal.
3. It is accompanied with nausea.
4. Loss of appetite and a consequent loss of weight.
5. Occasional vomiting of acid fluid which affords temporary relief from pain.
Symptoms of Duodenal Ulcer
1. Pain usually occurs several hours after a meal and resembles hunger pangs
2. Pain can be relieved by taking milk or a few biscuits
3. Bloated sensation after eating
4. Vomiting may also occur
COLIC
Colic is an intense stomach pain, most commonly due to indigestion or gas accumulation. Abdominal pain could also occur due to other reason.
